Home Learning - March 2020
To enable our children to continue their learning as effectively as possible during the school closure, we have put measures in place to allow for distance learning to take place. Our teachers will continue to work hard during the coming weeks and months to ensure that your child has access to the support they require. In order to assist with this, we hope that the following information will be of use:
Children's Guide to Coronavirus
Seesaw
Seesaw will be our primary method of communication between teachers and pupils. This online learning platform will require you to download the Seesaw app onto a mobile device or log in via a web browser on a computer.
Log in details were sent out in a letter to those children who were in school this week. Those children who were not in school were sent their details via School Ping. If you are not able to access your log in details, please email the office on office@portersgrange.southend.sch.uk.
Teachers will continue to set work on a daily basis for the children via Seesaw. This work may take different forms but should give the children different opportunities to maintain their learning.
If your child needs to contact their teacher, they can click on the green ‘add’ button and post a note to their personal page. Other children cannot see this. Teachers will monitor the posts which the children make.
Education City
At times, work might be set on Education City. They will be informed of this work via Seesaw but can then log in to Education City to complete the work.
If your child does not know their password for Education city, they can post a note to their page in Seesaw asking their teacher for their password.
